Quick Bio

Sally Garner is a multidisciplinary artist. She is currently the Artist in Residence for Fibers at the Appalachian Center for Craft, of Tennessee Tech University. She also teaches courses at TN Tech. Sally received her MFA for Studio Art, Textiles at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. She has a BFA in sculpture from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. During her time there, she realized that her installation artwork could be driven by her craft of crocheting. Now, she creates thoughtful textile sculptures that react to the idea of a future where humans interfere with nature, disturbing its already delicate ecosystems.
